■ Beyond Perfection - Nithonat （D16 Group Audio Software）

Nithonat is a classic drum machine box (606 emulation this time). All instruments are fully synthesized and with a way more advanced and extended sound shaping capabilities than its predecessor. Whole functionality of Nithonat is very similar to the other drum machines from D16 Group, which makes it very easy-to-use and creative instrument.

意外にTR-606をしっかりしたクローン化したソフトシンセは少なかった（無かった？）ので待望していた人も結構いるのでは。しかもD16から出るとなったら期待はかなり大きいです。デザインは「Phoscyon」の兄弟分といったかんじ。

D16は、TB303のエミュレーター「Phoscyon」、TR808のエミュレーター「Nepheton」、TR909のエミュレーター「Drumazon」、その他優秀なディストーション系のエフェクターをリリースしているポーランドの会社。それぞれとても素晴らしい出来のソフトで、上記のローランドのマシンをエミュレーションしたソフトは数多くあれど、D16のソフトはそれぞれの中で一位二位を争うサウンドです。

例えばPhoscyon（TB-303）についてHardfloorのRamon Zenkerのコメント。

Everything is very close to the behavior of the original, including the sequencer. But with the digital advantages like random function, automation or total recall. Also great are the options to pimp the classic sounds that the original can't do ! Like the things you can do with the additional and extendet parameters of the snare, kick and hihats.

Nepheton（TR-808）、Drumazon（TR-909）についてはRichie Hawtinのコメントを。

Forget retrofitting your 808 with Midi, or taking up studio space with the overly large (albeit beautiful 909), now whether I'm in my studio, at home, in the club, or even on the plane, I have my favorite classic machines always next to me, just incase inspiration strikes!!

金を握らされていたりお世辞込みであることを考慮に入れたとしても、このへんの人達がここまで絶賛しているというのはソフトへの信頼性の高さを表しているように思います。

下の動画は、D16によるソフトとハードの比較テスト。ほとんど区別がつきません。

Phoscyonは他のクローンやそれっぽいものと比較して、特にスライドの再現の精度が高いように感じますが、ここも踏み込むと非常に奥の深い世界ですので、軽いことは言えません。ところで「Phoscyon」って、どういうところに由来する言葉なんでしょう。ポーランド語なのか、読みは「フォスチョン」？

発売日、価格は現段階ではまだ未公表。プラグインの形式はVSTとAUがリリース予定だそうです。ユーロが安いうちに出ますように。
